JANE AND JANE, the nation's most sophisticated lesbian lifestyle magazine, is seeking the most talented, highly professional, enthusiastic and aggressive sales representative to ever walk the face of the earth! You will be responsible for both print and online advertising sales, including prospecting new clients, fostering relationships, and negotiating contracts. Simply stated, YOU MUST ROCK as a salesperson for us to consider you.
YOUR JOB:
• Develop a thorough understanding of JANE AND JANE magazine and the LGBT publishing industry.
• Achieve/exceed sales objectives selling both print and web ads.
• Prospect, contact, qualify and close prospective NATIONAL advertisers.
• Develop strategic proposals for prospective clients.
• Maintain a solid relationship with existing and new clients.
IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
• 3+ years of proven success in working with NATIONAL clients and their agencies.
• Your own computer, Internet connection, and fax machine.
• Solid knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong negotiating skills and the ability to generate and handle accounts independently.
• Some knowledge of the LGBT publishing industry and community, or the willingness to learn.
• Self-motivation and overwhelming PASSION for sales!
