Our client, a strong and growing A+ rated regional carrier, has an immediate opening within their Maryland team, for a Senior Level Commercial Specialist or Senior Commercial Lines Production Underwriter. This person will work out of their home based office and cover a Maryland territory. The Senior Commercial Specialist has underwriting authority and works directly with independent insurance agency producers in an assigned territory to increase commercial lines profitability and premium volume. Candidates should have a four year college degree or equivalent experience, direct insurance sales experience, and have a strong understanding of commercial lines insurance products. A proven, successful field commercial production underwriting or inside commercial underwriting background is preferred. Direct carrier experience is not required as an agency/broker background will be acceptable as well. The position offers a strong base salary in the $60k-$85k range plus a quarterly bonus program, an excellent benefit program including medical, dental, and prescription drug coverage, life insurance, pension & 401(k) plans, flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance for industry courses, plus a stock purchase program. In addition, this position includes a company car package, laptop computer, cell phone, etc. This is an excellent company to work for as they offer much room to grow, and they promote from within.
