The human assets team fuels the growth and success of Teach For America through fostering extraordinary, diverse talent. We do so by supporting teams in recruiting, managing, developing, evaluating, retaining, and rewarding staff members in order to create a high performance organization that provides unparalleled leadership development opportunities. Specifically, the external talent recruitment team is responsible for sourcing competitive candidates from a variety of sectors to fill approximately 350 positions this year at all levels of the organization. The assistant’s overall responsibility is to provide administrative support to the managing director, external talent recruitment and to provide overall support for the external talent recruitment team. The assistant will be responsible for duties ranging from scheduling and coordinating travel to budgeting to managing special projects. The assistant will report directly to the managing director, external talent recruitment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Managing external marketing for select positions including posting job descriptions online with appropriate vendors and conducting other internet research to source strong candidates
• Ensuring data integrity by updating candidate data in our candidate tracking databases and analyzing this data to ensure that 1) we know where each candidate is in the process and 2) that each candidate is moving swiftly through the process
• Managing the external talent recruitment team budget including:
o Tracking spending to ensure that we are realizing opportunities for savings and/or identifying areas of greater need as far in advance as possible
o Processing reimbursements and monthly credit card statements
o Developing the following year’s budget
• Providing administrative support including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and arranging travel
• Implementing processes and procedures to generally ensure that the external talent recruitment team functions as efficiently and effectively as possible
• Managing other projects on an as-needed basis to ensure that the external talent recruitment team is positioned to meet its ambitious goals
