OBJECTIVE:
Sportsvite is seeking a talented , enthusiastic and passionate blogger to find and report on interesting stories in the world of recreational sports.
COMPANY:
Sportsvite (www.sportsvite.com) is an online community for recreational athletes – it serves the 110 million Americans that play amateur sports. Sportsvite builds connections between players, teams and leagues and organizes every aspect of their games and activities online – from practices to pick-up games to league competitions. Sportsvite reaches over 500,000 recreational athletes and 25,000 teams in the top U.S. cities.

TITLE:
- Sportsvite Blogger
ROLE:
- Lead blogger for the Sportsvite Blog
- Primary news-bringer to the Sportsvite community
- Official voice of Sportsvite.com
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Write 3-5 blog posts per week
- Communicate, interviews and email members of the Sportsvite community to feature on blog
- Facilitate a sense of community and excitement among Sportsvite members
- Find and research interesting rec sports stories to post on Sportsvite
- Establish relationships with other sports bloggers and websites to help promote Sportsvite
- Increase visibility of Sportsvite throughout the web
- Encourage reader comments and participation
- Be a friendly yet professional ambassador for Sportsvite with the internet community
- The Sportsvite blogger will focus posts on:
Sportsvite Community News
- Find interesting profiles for players, teams, leagues or events, and obtain content ranging from pictures and videos to email interviews
- Work with community members to bring user-generated content to the blog

Interesting stories from the world of sports
- Investigate news sources ranging from CBS to Digg, and report interesting stories concerning recreational sports
- Search all news sources and post stories featuring Sportsvite
- Example post: http://blog.sportsvite.com/?p=123
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in print or web-based journalism
- Available to write for the blog 3-5 times a week
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Strong conversational writing abilities
- Enthusiasm for all sports
