This is a part-time, fixed-term, telecommuting position (20 hours a week for 6 months).

The Oregon Library Association (OLA) in conjunction with the Oregon State Library is seeking a Web & Database Developer who will lead and participate in the design and implementation of a new Oregon authors website for the public and web-based database for libraries.

Key responsibilities:
= This highly skilled role requires a mix of web development and database administration skills.
= Primary responsibilities for this position include development, design, and implementation of both secure public and private websites, which includes developing web architecture, on-line forms, and dynamic pages as well as assisting in database design and development.
= As a web developer, this person will collaborate with OLA’s Oregon Authors Committee to define requirements and manage technical work.
= This position involves a significant amount of hands-on technical web application and database development skills.
= Candidates should have a proven history of strong customer focus and disciplined software development processes in the creation of both small and large web applications.

Qualifications:
Required:
= Previous experience as a web developer and database developer on small to mid-size projects.
= Program experience in developing and modifying MySQL databases.
= Experience with complex SQL queries and database schema design.
= Recent experience with developing and maintaining a wiki.
= Demonstrated experience in PHP/MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Perl, Apache, and graphic design tools.
= The candidate must have good oral and written communication skills.
